What to eat in Hong Kong

Eating in Hong Kong can be a disaster for us if we do not know where to eat or what to eat.

How to eat econimicaly in Hong Kong
Food in Hong Kong is very expensive, but you can still spend wisely.
  • In Hong Kong, 90% of their restaurants or cafe served special set for tea break or supper, tea break set start between 2pm to 5pm, and supper set start after 9pm.
  • Packages during these 2 session are usually served in smaller portion with drinks and it cost around HKD18 to HKD25 per set, normally this amount of food is sufficient for our eating portion.
  • They have many fast food chain store which also serving food in package (main course plus drink or soup), there are lots of selection in the store and their price range for breakfast wil be HKD20 to HKD25, Lunch - HKD25 to HKD35, Dinner - HKD28 to HKD45.
  • The lunch & dinner set especially the dinner set is quite big portion, usually 2 ladies can share 1 set.

What to eat (what is the specialty for tourist to try in Hong Kong?)
  • Roasted Goose (烧鹅)
  • Yam Cha (饮茶)
  • Fish Soup Noodle (鱼米汤)
  • Teochew Fish Ball Noodle / 潮州鱼蛋粉
  • Yun Nan Mi Xian / 云南米线 (酸辣/麻辣)
  • Mini Sharksfin / 碗仔翅
  • White Carrot or Internal Organs of Cow / 萝卜/牛杂 (Roadside Store)
  • Durian PanCake / 榴莲Pancake
  • 杨枝金露 (a mango juice with pamelo sacs)
  • Egg Tart (蛋挞-港式/葡式)
  • Chicken Tail Bun (鸡尾包)
